When upgrading your home cooling, the two primary options are Split Systems and Ducted Air Conditioning. The best choice depends on your budget, property size, and personal comfort preferences.
Split Systems:
Pros: Cost-effective for single rooms, easy to install, independent control out of the box, lower initial cost.
Cons: Visual impact on walls, requires multiple outdoor units if cooling several rooms, limits cooling to specific zones.
Ducted AC Systems:
Pros: Whole-home climate control, completely hidden inside ceiling, raises property value, highly quiet, clean aesthetic look.
Cons: Higher initial layout cost, requires sufficient roof space for duct paths.
Recommendation: If you only need to cool a living room and bedroom, go with split systems. If you want whole-home cooling with clean ceiling lines, choose a zoned ducted system.
